Vampires Realm - The World of the Seven Vampire Bloodlines
Read on to find out more about the world of Vampires Realm, including information on the seven pure vampire bloodlines, the werewolves, the witches, the demons, and also the laws that govern the vampires.
Lawlessness is akin to weakness. To be weak is to be nothing more than human. The seven pure bloodlines of Europe do no tolerate this, and many centuries ago put in place a series of laws to keep their society safe and to separate them from the weaklings and the humans.
These laws are upheld by the Law Keepers, seven elevated vampires, one representative from each bloodline, chosen for their skill and dedication to their family and the covenant. The punishment for most "sin" is a short trial held by the lords and ladies of the seven bloodlines, along with the Law Keepers, after which the accused is executed. There is no other sentence, save the unspeakable penalty the Law Keepers pay if they themselves break the law and commit sin.
The following is upheld by law:
- Dissolution of the bloodlines is a sin. Mating or Claiming between bloodlines is forbidden.
- Revelation of the existence of vampires to mortals is a sin, unless intended to turn or kill the human.
- Conspiracy against your bloodline is a sin.
- Assisting or fraternising with weaklings or demons that are considered slaves of the families is a sin.
- Offering a safe house to those wanted for crimes against the covenant is a sin and is punishable by eternal containment within the bastion or, in severe cases, death.

The Vampires Realm series focuses on the pure bloodlines and weaker bloodlines of Europe. Split into seven families, the pure bloodlines of Europe rule absolutely, although they themselves are governed by the laws put in place millennia ago. The weaklings are a mixed bloodline that are seen as below the pure bloodlines, making them prey. They are a lawless species with little social structure.

Once a strong race in themselves, the werewolves have been persecuted by the seven pure vampire bloodlines of Europe. They have been reduced to nothing more than dogs, held in containment centres and released only when they have a mission to complete. One werewolf of old blood has vowed to raise his race again to the proud and free warriors they once were.

Most humans are blind to the creatures whose world they share, but others have discovered the existence of the vampires, werewolves and demons. Some choose the path of a willing sacrifice, desiring the chance to become vampire or werewolf; others choose the path of protector, vowing the hunt and kill all demons. Vampire hunters are seen as a form of pest control by the pure bloodlines as they mostly encounter the weaklings, and not the vampires of the pure bloodlines. Vampire hunters are no match for a pure bloodline vampire and rarely survive a fight against one.

Vampires and werewolves share their world with underdemons that are either allies or enemies. Mercenaries, bodyguards or assistants, the demons of the underworld come in many shapes and sizes, most of which are happy to feed off humans and a lot of which are even happier to be killing vampires.
