Author Thoughts - Character - Mia Venia

One half of a strange but powerful couple, Mia is an outcast Venia, and high on the Law Keepers hit list. Forced to run because of her love for Dmitri, a lord of the werewolves, she's left behind her family and severed most ties to the vampire world. Slim, delicate and refined, she's a veritable Russian princess, and a stark contrast to Dmitri. It was a pleasure to write Mia, and doubly interesting to write her and Dmitri together. I really wanted them to seem so opposite that people would be stunned that they could have a relationship, let alone love each other as deeply as they do. Mia is beautiful and refined, with an air of grace about her that made her a nice contrast to the rashness and youth of Prophecy too. You really get the feeling with Mia that she may not be as delicate as she seems, and that beneath her cool façade, she's as much a killer as the next vampire. » read more about this character

Author Thoughts - Character - Dmitri

Tall, brutal and rough, Dmitri comes across as the type of man that most people would fear and the kind of werewolf you wouldn't want to run into. Lord of the last bastion of the werewolves, he works to reinstate his kin into the position in society they deserve. He's tired of his fellow werewolves being slaves to the vampires, and works with his mate, the vampire Mia Venia, to do all he can to bring about a revolution that will see his kin freed by the seven pure vampire bloodlines. Dmitri is always great fun to write. He's got a sense of humour hidden beneath his rough exterior and has such a blunt way of saying things that it sometimes gets him into trouble with his more refined mate, Mia. It's such a beautiful contrast between them-the genteel lady, all grace and beauty, and the bulky, rough country-bred man-that I'm sure this couple will become a favourite of readers. » read more about this character
